Yale Third After Day One of Ivy League Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - With two rounds in the books at the 2007 Ivy League Championships, the Yale women's golf team is in third place. Columbia, which as a team notched a first round 308 and a second round 307 for a two round total of 615, will start Sunday in the lead. Princeton (309, 315, 624) is in second.
The Bulldogs improved their first round 329 by scoring a second round and tournament best 303 in round two for a two round total of 624. Four of five Yale golfers scored better in round two than in round one.
Senior Cindy Shin (T4) fired a 78 and a 75 to end Saturday at +9, 632. Natasha Spackey (85, 74, 153) currently sits in ninth place, while Lindsay Hong (86, 76, 162) is tied for 12th. Junior Ellie Brophy carded an 85 and a 78 to put herself in a tie for 15th place. Erica Im is tied for 23rd. The sophomore from Cerritos, Calif. registered a 167.
The tournament is being contested at the Trenton Country Club.
