Bulldogs Sit 2nd After First Round at Princeton

Junior January Romero fired a 76 as the Yale women's golf team sits in second place with a score of 320 after day one of the Princeton Invitational.

The Bulldogs, coached by former Princeton star Mary Moan, trail Princeton (315) by five strokes and are tied with the Tigers' "B" team, while Penn is eight strokes off second with a 328.

Junior Lauren Pappas, who is not playing as part of the Bulldog squad, had the second-best round for a Yalie with a 78. Sophomore Cindy Shin (80), who shot a 154 to win at Dartmouth last week, junior Lauren Ressler (82), freshman Ellie Brophy (82) and sophomore Marion Stanley (87) were the other Elis competing for the team score.

The final round of the Princeton Invitational is scheduled for Sunday. The Bulldogs, who won at Dartmouth last week, are looking for a second straight tournament victory.
