NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale seeks its third consecutive title this weekend at the Ivy League Women's Golf Championship at the Trenton Country Club in New Jersey. The event has a 36-hole format on Saturday and an 18-hole final round on Sunday. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. each day.
"This team has made good decisions all year in terms of preparing to win tournaments and championships," said Yale head coach Mary Moan. "We expect that it will take our best to win. Our recent scores are competitive with the best teams in the league, but we aren't taking anything for granted. This team has a lot of heart, and I expect they will give it their all in hopes of making it three in a row."
Yale has two returning All-Ivy players - sophomore January Romero and junior Stephanie Wei. Romero, who was the medalist at the William & Mary Invitational in March, placed second last year, while Wei was fourth. Last year, the Bulldogs posted a three-day total of 948, which was 10 shots better than second-place Princeton.
