Brophy Named Women's Golf Captain

New Haven, Conn. - Ellie Brophy was named the captain of the women's golf team for the 2007-08 season at the team's annual banquet at the golf course last week. She also received the Widdy Neale Award, given to the golfer who made the biggest contribution to the team.

Brophy had an impressive junior season. She played in all eight tournaments and finished in the top 15 in six of those events with a round average of 79.33. She had her best finish at Penn State's Nittany Lion Invitational in the fall where she took third. As a sophomore, she tied for 8th at the Ivy League Championship.

A Native of Spokane, WA, Brophy is a resident of Berkeley College.
