NEW HAVEN, Conn. - One week after producing a fourth-place finish and its highest team score of the season, a 191.000, at Rutgers, the Yale gymnastics team travels to Maryland for a quad meet. Joining the Bulldogs and the Terrapins will be No. 17 Auburn and George Washington.
Maryland and George Washington have already met twice this season, with the Terrapins defeating the Colonials both times. Their most recent meeting came on Tuesday at Maryland, with Maryland winning 193.375-192.825. North Carolina was also present, however, and the Tar Heels topped both teams with a score of 194.000. The Colonials followed their competition with Maryland and North Carolina with a home meet on Wednesday against Towson, posting their best score of the season in a 193.650-193.125 victory.
Auburn has produced mixed results lately, losing to Ohio State 195.525-194.725 last Saturday. In the two meets before last weekend, however, the Tigers broke 196.000 twice, scoring a 196.420 in a victory over No. 19 Denver and a 196.800 in a loss to No. 5 Florida.
Competition begins at 4:00 p.m. at Maryland’s Comcast Center.
