NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Talis Trevino has been named this week’s recipient of the ECAC’s Coaches’ Choice Award. Trevino finished 13th in the floor exercise, scoring a career-high 9.700, at Maryland on Saturday. She also competed on the uneven parallel bars, scoring an 8.500.

Trevino, from Marietta, Ga., has struggled with injuries throughout her Yale career, but her patience and perseverance is beginning to pay off this season. Last year, she dislocated her elbow prior to the season-opener and was unable to compete until the last meet of the season. After the season, she broke her ankle, but she recovered in time to compete on the vault, bars, and floor in almost every meet this year, becoming a consistent contributor to the team’s overall score.
