NEW HAVEN, Conn. - This Saturday, the gymnastics team will travel to the University of New Hampshire for the New Hampshire Invitational, a tri-meet between the UNH Wildcats, Brown and Yale. The Wildcats have scored as high as a 194.25 this year, while Brown has scored a 187.425 at both meets of the 2012 season.
Yale is coming off of a loss to reigning Ivy Classic champions Penn, who beat Yale 191.225-188.35 in New Haven last weekend. The Bulldogs had their season-high thus far at the first meet of the season, a quad-meet at Springfield which Yale won with a score of 189.475.
Last season the Bulldogs did not face the Wildcats, but in 2010 the Bulldogs fell to UNH in the opening meet of the season, 195-186.525.
Yale faced Brown twice last year and was edged out in both meetings. At the Ivy Classic, Brown and Yale placed third and fourth with team totals of 188.9 and 185.55, respectively. At the ECAC Championships hosted by Brown, the home team placed sixth with a 187.925, and Yale was seventh with 186.225.
Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. in UNH's Lundholm Gymnasium.
