SHREVEPORT, La. – The Yale women's gymnastics team concluded its 2013 season on Sunday, as Senior gymnast Tara Feld finished 11th on the floor exercise in the USAG Collegiate National championships with a score of 9.575. She was Yale's sole representative in Sunday's event finals.
Seven Yale gymnasts competed in the two flights of Friday's preliminary session, which determined the participants for the event finals. Three of these gymnasts, Feld, sophomore Joyce Li and sophomore Morgan Traina, competed in all four events in the preliminary session. Feld finished with a 9.725 on the floor (tied for sixth in the first flight) to advance to the event finals and scored above 9.550 on all four apparatuses to finish tenth among the all-arounders on Friday with a score of 38.575. Li scored a 9.750 on the floor exercise (13th in the second flight) and a 9.600 to finish tied for 18th in the second flight on the vault. Traina had a 9.750 on the bars to finish tied for eighth in the second flight.
Senior Lindsay Andsager finished tied for 16th in the second flight on the bars with a 9.675. Junior Nicole Tay finished in 31st in the same flight on the bars. On the vault, freshman Brittney Sooksengdao finished tied for 16th in the first flight with a 9.600. Senior captain Stephanie Goldstein, competing in her final Yale meet, tied for 10th in the first flight on the balance beam with a 9.525. She also tied for 30th on the floor exercise with a 9.150.
The USAG meet was the final meet in the Yale careers of seniors Andsager, Feld and Goldstein.
