NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale gymnastics team travels to Washington, D.C., on Sunday to take on George Washington and Towson.  This will be the Bulldogs' second spring break meet after scoring a season high 191.575 in a meet with Central Michigan, Rutgers, SCSU and Towson last weekend.

Yale has not faced George Washington yet this season but they competed in a tri-meet with the Colonials and the University of New Hampshire last season.  Yale finished third in that meet, posting a score of 191.225, and GW finished second with a 194.750.  The Bulldogs saw Towson in last week's meet, with the Tigers barely edging the Bulldogs, scoring 191.675 to Yale's 191.575.

Last week's meet was the strongest of the season for the Bulldogs and the team hopes to carry momentum from that contest into the rest of its meets this season.  Junior Morgan Traina was excellent, finishing third on the bars with a career-best 9.850.  Sophomore Camilla Opperman had a strong meet as well, putting up Yale's top scores on the vault and the floor exercise, where she tied her career best with a 9.825 to finish in a tie for eighth.

Sunday's meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
