NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two Yale gymnasts were honored with ECAC awards for the week of Mar. 10 to Mar. 16 following their strong performances in a tri-meet against George Washington and Towson.  Junior Morgan Traina was named Co-Gymnast of the Week and senior captain Ashley O'Connor was picked as the winner of the Coaches' Choice Award.

Traina was excellent against GW and Towson, producing a career-best score of 38.900 in the all-around to finish in first place.  She finished third on the balance beam with a 9.800 and was remarkably consistent, scoring above 9.600 on each event.  Her strong performance led the Bulldogs to a season-high team score of 191.750.

O'Connor, selected as captain by her teammates at the end of last season, has battled through a number of injuries during her Yale career.  Against GW and Towson O'Connor scored a career-best on the uneven parallel bars, scoring a 9.675.  She was given the Coaches' Choice Award for her perseverance and leadership this season.

The Bulldogs have two meets this week, a dual-meet at Bridgeport on Thursday and the ECAC Championship meet, hosted by Temple on Saturday.
