Gymnasts Travel To USAG Nationals

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Yale is sending seven gymnasts to compete at this weekend's USAG Collegiate National Championships.  The meet is hosted by Brown University in Providence, R.I.

Junior Morgan Traina, who finished first in the all-around competition against George Washington and Towson in March, will compete in the all-around, as will fellow junior Joyce Li. Sophomore Camilla Opperman will compete on both the floor excercise and the vault.  Junior Brianna Chrisman, senior Ashley O'Connor and senior Nicole Tay all qualified to compete on the uneven parallel bars and sophomore Brittney Sooksengdao qualified on the balance beam.

The team competition at USAG Collegiate nationals takes place on Friday and Saturday, with the team champion being crowned on Saturday evening.  The individual event finals, which the Yale gymnasts will compete in, start on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
