PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Six members of the Yale gymnastics team competed in the USAG Collegiate National Championships semifinals on Friday in the final meet of the year for the Bulldogs. The meet was hosted by Brown. The Yale gymnasts competed individually during the team semifinal poriton of the competition.
On the vault, sophomore Camilla Opperman scored a 9.700 to finish in 15th place. Junior Morgan Traina was right behind her, tying for 19th place with a 9.650. Junior Joyce Li finished 26th with a 9.550.
On the uneven parallel bars, Traina scored a career-high 9.850 to finish tied for sixth place, Yale's best finish on the day. Li was 21st with a 9.700 and senior Nicole Tay was 29th with a 9.550.
Li was Yale's top finisher on the balance beam, scoring a 9.550 to finish in 14th place. Traina tied for 28th place with a 9.175 while sophomore Brittney Sooksengdao tied for 30th with a 9.125.
On the floor excercise, Opperman tied for seventh place with a 9.750.
In the all-around competition, Li finished seventh with a combined score of 37.600 and Traina finished eighth with a 37.375.
In the team competition, Bridgeport finished first with a score of 195.225 in Saturday's finals.
