Don Houlton has joined Yale's athletic department as the assistant coach of the women's gymnastics team. Houlton's previous position was at Nebraska Gold Gymnastics in Omaha, where he has been Director/Head Coach for the past 21 years. He has also been its owner since 1993. Before that, he coached at various other gyms in Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska. Houlton has been a very active member of USA Gymnastics from the local to the national level. Since 1997, Houlton has been the Coordinator for the Region IV Training Camp, as well as a member of the National Junior Olympic Program Committee. In addition, he was the Nebraska State Chairman from 1994 to 1997. Houlton has presented at the national Coaches Congress several times, including in 2005 when he was Master Clinician.
