Monica Shoji was unable to compete throughout her freshman year. Shoji joined the Bulldogs from Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy. She has competed at the international elite since 2004 and was a member of the USA National Team. At the 2005 US Classic, Shoji won floor and placed second in the all-around. She was fourth in the all-around at the US Nationals in 2005.
