Durham, NH - The Yale women's gymnastics team competed today in the Northeast Invitational against the University of New Hampshire and the University of Rhode Island. UNH came in first place with a final score of 191.125, URI was second with 185, and Yale was close behind, claiming third with a total score of 184.9.
Kimberley So '09 led the Elis in the all-around competition, scoring 36.850 to claim fifth place. Fellow freshman Alina Liao `09 came in sixth, scoring 36.775. Veteran Anne McPherson '06 also put in a strong performance and was awarded seventh in the all-around with a score of 34.225.
Miki Seltzer '07 scored a 9.5 on the vault for a sixth place finish.
On the uneven bars, Suchitra Paul '07 tied with Heather Moore of UNH for sixth place with a score of 9.425.
So had an outstanding beam routine that nabbed her third place. So tied with Beth Bronson of UNH, with a score of 9.5.
On the floor exercise, Jessica Tai '07 was awarded 9.6 points for a sixth place finish.
The Elis host the University of Pennsylvania at home in New Haven on Sat., Jan. 21 at 1 pm.
