Yale Gymnastics Falls to Penn

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - In their first home meet of the season, the Yale women's gymnastics team fell to Penn today 188.650-190.050. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs put forth strong individual performances.

Yale Captain Jamie Green (Los Angeles, CA) won the floor exercise with 9.850. Yale Freshman Suchitra Paul (Orinda, CA) placed first in beam and finished second in all-around competition with a score of 38.150. Junior Kathryn Fong (Brooklyn, NY) placed first in uneven bars with 9.750. Emily Petkun of Penn placed first all-around with 38.450.

"With every meet we keep improving," said Green after the meet. "We have a lot of injuries, but we are getting healthier and should be able to perform stronger in our next meet."

The Bulldogs (0-4) travel to Pennsylvania next Saturday where they will be competing against Penn State, West Virginia and URI in the hopes of getting their first victory of the season.
