With a team score of 184.075, the Bulldogs edged out Brockport (183.425) for a third place finish. Pittsburgh (192.95) won the meet, while home team Rutgers placed second with a 190.5. Yale was led by a strong all-around performance from Alina Liao, who tied for second place with a 37.925.
The Bulldogs started on beam, where freshman Allison Mak and Liao turned in solid routines for scores of 9.575 and 9.45, respectively. On floor, Miki Seltzer once again proved her dominance in the event, tying for first with a 9.775. At the vault, the Bulldogs were solid with each member of the team landing successfully. Liao led on bars with a 9.525.
"We had our ups and downs today," said Seltzer. "Our consistency is getting a lot better but it'll take awhile to get it where we want it to be."
Saturday, Feb. 10, is the Bulldogs first home meet. Against Southern Connecticut, competition starts at 1 pm in the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
