Yale Places Third at Fox Run Invitational

Durham, NH - The Yale gymnastics team competed last Saturday at the Fox Run Invitational, which was hosted by the University of New Hampshire. New Hampshire captured the team title with a score of 194.375. Minnesota finished the meet with a 193.875. Yale came in third place with a 187.525, and Temple scored 182.200 for fourth place.
Kimberley So '09 captured fourth place on the vault, with a score of 9.750. Miki Seltzer '07 also performed well on the vault, scoring 9.600.
So also posted a 9.600 on the beam, which was the Bulldog's highest score in the event. Not far behind So was Laura Lombardi `08, who scored a 9.575 in her first showing on the beam this year. Alina Liao '09, who was last week's ECAC Rookie of the Week, also scored a 9.575.
Yale's top score on the uneven bars was by Sarah Peterson '07, who put in a stellar performance for a 9.525.
In the floor exercise competition, Seltzer had Yale's highest score, with a 9.650. Suchitra Paul '07 also performed well, scoring a 9.600.
So and Liao put in an equally strong showing in the All-Around competition. Both had an All-Around score of 38.025 for a fourth place tie.
The Elis will travel to State College, PA on Friday, Feb. 10, to face off against Penn State, Nebraska and Rutgers at 7 pm.
