Yale Finishes Third at Florida Invitational

Gainesville, FL - The Yale women's gymnastics team finished third today against the No. 6 ranked University of Florida and the University of Pittsburgh. Florida won the meet with a score of 197.2. Pittsburgh was the runner-up at 192.55, and Yale was third at 188.625.

 

Anne McPherson, who has established herself as a true force on the team through her consistently strong performances, finished fifth in the all around competition with a score of 38.375.

 

McPherson led Yale on the balance beam, capturing ninth place with a 9.575. Jessica Tai had a 9.55 for tenth, and Suchitra Paul was eleventh at 9.475.

 

McPherson was also ninth on the floor exercise, with a 9.675.

 

Kristen Campbell posted the Eli's highest score on vault. Campbell scored a 9.575 to tie for eighth place.

 

On the uneven parallel bars, Kathryn Fong once again contributed a rock solid performance, earning a score of 9.825. Fong shared the fourth place title with four other gymnasts.

 

The Bulldogs will return to New Haven to continue training for the ECAC Championship in Harrisburg, VA on Mar. 26.
