Yale Wins Last Dual Meet of the Season

Final Stats

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - In the last competition before the ECAC Championships, Yale swept past Brown, 189.925-181.825. In addition, Lauren Tatsuno, Laura Lombardi, and Alina Liao each came away with at least one individual title, as the Bulldogs won all four plus the all-around.

On the vault, Tatsuno won the event with a 9.6. Allison Mak tied for second with a 9.55 and Kivisto came in fourth with a 9.5.

Working off last week's momentum on bars, Yale came up with some big routines. Cynthia Leung led off with a 9.3 and Sherry Yang added a 9.35 for sixth place. The podium was dominated by Bulldog blue, with Liao in third (9.425), Brigitte Kivisto in second (9.475), and Lombardi with a beautifully executed routine that scored a 9.55 for first place.

Beam was another sweep for the Bulldogs. Liao's 9.5 earned her fourth place. Mak scored a 9.675 and placed third, barely edged out by Lombardi's career high 9.7. Tatsuno also shone, earning a career high 9.8 to take her second title of the night.

On floor, Kristen Campbell's 9.45 put her in fifth place. Kivisto placed third with a 9.6, and Tatsuno added to her collection of stellar routines with a 9.675 second place finish. Liao won the event, earning a 9.75.

Liao was the all-around champion with a 37.925 and Kivisto's 37.725 placed her second. Campbell's final score was a 36.95.

Next weekend will be the last meet of the 2007-2008 season for most of the team. The Bulldogs will travel to William & Mary for the ECAC Championships. Competition begins at 12pm.
