ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Senior Miki Seltzer and sophomore Alina Liao competed in the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Northeast Regional Championships this evening. Liao was an individual all-around qualifier, while Seltzer was an event specialist on floor.
In a field compromised of a number of nationally ranked teams, the Bulldogs held their own, refusing to be intimidated by the high scores.
"The girls did a decent job and afterwards, lots of people from other teams came up to congratulate them. They did an excellent job representing Yale," said Head Coach Barbara Tonry.
Liao had a series of solid routines, scoring a 9.6 on vault, 9.425 on bars, 9.2 on beam, and a 9.725 on floor. Her all-around score of a 37.95 tied for 14th.
With her powerful tumbling and crowd-pleasing routine, Seltzer ended her collegiate gymnastics career with a 9.725 on floor.
The competition season for Yale's women's gymnastics team is now officially over.
