In the last home meet of the year, the Bulldogs will be taking on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Rutgers is currently 3-3, with a high team score of 189.525 against Penn in January. In comparison, Yale has scored in the low 189 points in the past couple of meets. Last season, the two teams competed against each other for a total of four times. Rutgers came out with the higher score three times.
The Scarlet Knights are coming off a home win over Cortland while the home team had a third place finish out of the four teams at the Fox Run Invitational last weekend.
The two teams are pretty evenly matched, in what promises to be a thrilling competition. While the Scarlet Knights have been scoring around 47 points in each line-up, the Bulldogs depend on strong beam and floor rotations. Sophomore Laura Severino is a force to be reckoned with, a prominent competitor for Yale all-arounders Brigitte Kivisto, Alina Liao, and Kristen Campbell.
At the end of the competition, the Bulldogs' four seniors will be recognized for their hard work and dedication to the team, in their last time competing in the John J. Lee Amphitheater.
Immediately afterwards, there will be a reception for the team's alumnae and members of the Yale Gymnastics Association in the Kiphuth Trophy Room.
