UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Alina Liao had a stellar night at the NCAA Regional Championships, hosted by Penn State. Despite being Yale's lone representative at the meet, Liao tied her career high in the all-around, earning a 38.675 and 11th place. She also tied her career high on beam with a 9.825, placing 10th. Her other scores of 9.5 on vault, 9.65 on bars, and 9.7 on floor were also solid.
The University of Georgia won the team competition with a 197.775 and Denver placed second (195.775). Georgia's Tiffany Tolnay won the individual all-around, scoring a 39.675.
The women's gymnastics team will resume competition next January.
