Bulldogs Place 18 on ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team

Six Seniors Honored, Including Four Who Earned Honor All Four Years

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team had 18 student-athletes named to the 2012-13 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, which was announced by the league Wednesday. Yale's 18 selections were the second-most in the conference. The Bulldogs' honorees included six members of the Class of 2013: goaltender Erin Callahan (Kenilworth, Ill.), defenseman Emily DesMeules (North Pomfret, Vt.), Jen Matichuk (St. Albert, Alta.), Danielle Moncion (Round Lake Center, Ont.), Natalie Wedell (Arden Hills, Minn.) and Alyssa Zupon (Basking Ridge, N.J.). That group combined for 22 All-Academic Team selections during the past four years. Callahan, DesMeules, Wedell and Zupon earned the award all four years.

Players are eligible for the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team if they have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have an average GPA of 3.00 for the past three semesters.
