All Five Seniors Honored

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's ice hockey team had 19 student-athletes named to the 2015-16 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team, which was announced by the league Thursday. The league also announced the "Commissioner's Level" of recognition, designed to honor the top scholar on each team. That went to sophomore forward Kaitlin Gately (Hingham, Mass.), a political science major, who has the team's top grade-point average.

The Bulldogs' 2015-16 All-Academic Team honorees included all five seniors: forward Hanna Åström (Örnsköldsvik, Sweden), forward Janelle Ferrara (Winthrop, Mass.), goaltender Rachelle Graham (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.), forward Jamie Haddad (Wilbraham, Mass.) and defenseman Kate Martini (King City, Ont.). The senior class combined for 19 All-Academic Team selections during their careers. Åström, Ferrara, Graham and Haddad won the award all four years.

Players are eligible for the ECAC Hockey All-Academic team if they have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have an average GPA of 3.00 for the past three semesters.
