Yale Hosts Quinnipiac to Start 2018

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - As the calendar turns from 2017 to 2018, the Yale Bulldogs turn to an in-state rival to kick off the new year. Yale hosts the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Tuesday, January 2nd at Ingalls Rink.

The two sides will battle for the first time in an ECAC matchup, but for the second time this season. The Bulldogs and Bobcats clashed in the Nutmeg Classic over Thanksgiving, finishing with a 3-3 tie. Greta Skarzynski had two goals for the Bulldogs as Yale came back from a 3-1 third period deficit.

Skarzynski has led the Bulldogs over the first half of the season, collecting 15 points in her first 16 games. The first-year leads Yale in goals with eight, while senior defender Mallory Souliotis leads the team with 10 assists. Her 11 points are second behind Skarzynski and lead all Yale defenders.

The Bulldogs power play in the first half was on fire, clicking at a 25% success rate. Yale ranks fifth in the nation and second in the ECAC in power play percentage.
