Bulldogs Can't Get Past Catamounts

New Haven, CONN. -- The Yale women's hockey team dropped the first of two games 5-1 against the University of Vermont (5-9-4, 3-7-2) on Friday at Ingalls.

In her team-leading, 104th-career game, senior forward Jordan Chancellor netted her third goal this season with under five minutes left in the third period. Charlotte Welch threw the puck on net from just outside the slot, and Chancellor converted on the second-chance opportunity. Junior defenseman Saroya Tinker also assisted on the play, her fourth of the season.

Despite the four-goal differential, the Bulldogs outshot Vermont 28 to 26 over three frames.

Yale is back in action tomorrow afternoon against Vermont in the second game of the two-game set. Puck drop is slated for 2:00 p.m. at the Whale.
