Yale Ends Season with Three-Point Weekend
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's hockey team finished its 2018-19 campaign with an emotional, 2-2 OT draw against Harvard at Ingalls on Saturday. Kyra O'Brien made 14 saves, while Saroya Tinker and Emma Seitz lit the lamp for the Bulldogs.
Down 1-0 in the second period, Tinker started the scoring for Yale with a slapshot from above the right circle. She converted on a feed from Julia Yetman and Sophie Veronneau to knot the score at 1-1. Yetman recorded her 29th career assist.
After a Crimson goal at 4:36 of the second, the Bulldogs tied the game again, when Seitz, who took a feed from first-year forward Kaitlyn Rippon, sliced through traffic and wristed home a goal.
Yale had 39-16 shots advantage, including a 4-2 edge in overtime. The final shot by senior captain Emma Vlasic was stopped by Crimson goaltender Lindsay Reed. That could have been the perfect ending for the Class of 2019.
