Schenectady, N.Y. - Five different players scored goals and Shivon Zilis recorded a shutout with 18 saves as Yale beat Union 5-0 at Messa Rink Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs ended their weekend series against the Dutchwomen with two wins, having outscored Union 12-0.

Yale (5-3-0, 4-2-0 ECACHL) got on the board 5:02 into the game on a wraparound from Christina Sharun. As with Friday's game, the Bulldogs led only 1-0 after one but broke the game open in the second. This time, Natalie Babony and Nina Resor scored just 33 seconds apart early in the second, and Deena Caplette added another later in the period for a 4-0 lead. Sheila Zingler's power-play goal at 14:49 of the third finished off the scoring.

Zilis made seven saves in the first, six in the second and five in the third en route to the shutout. The Bulldogs kept Union (3-7-1, 0-6-0) scoreless on all five of its power play opportunities. Sharun, who also had an assist, led all skaters with a +4 for the night. Also picking up assists were Babony, Lisa Jacque (two), Nina Resor, Erin Duggan and Kelsey Johnson. All told, 12 different Yale skaters had at least one point on the weekend.

The Bulldogs, who tied the school record with 12 victories last season, did not get their fifth win until the 15th game last year. The 12 goals they posted over the weekend is the most they have had in a two-game span since January 19-22, 2003 (a 1-1 tie with Providence and a 12-1 win over Sacred Heart).

Yale returns to action Wednesday night at Princeton (7:00 p.m.). The game will be broadcast on-line as's Game of the Week.
