New Haven, CT - The Yale Athletics Department has waived the regular ticket charge and invites all hockey fans to attend the Yale-Princeton ECACHL women's quarterfinal series at Ingalls Rink free of charge as a guest of Yale. This is the first time that Yale has ever hosted a women's hockey playoff game. Game times for the best-of-three series are 7 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday (if necessary).
The Bulldogs have enjoyed a record-breaking season, setting the school mark for victories (currently at 14) and tying the school record with a six-game winning streak earlier this year. A 4-2 win over Princeton in the regular-season finale on Feb. 23 locked up home-ice advantage for the quarterfinal series.
The top four teams in the conference host series against seeds No. 5 through 8 this weekend, with the four winners advancing to the ECACHL semifinals March 12 in Schenectady, N.Y. The winner of the ECACHL championship on March 13 receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
