Duggan Named First Team All-ECACHL at Awards Banquet

March 11, 2005

Schenectady, NY - Yale captain Erin Duggan was named first team All-ECACHL at the conference's awards banquet Friday night. Duggan is the first Bulldog since Laurie Belliveau in 1997-98 to earn first team honors. She is also the first skater ever to win the award for Yale, as Belliveau was a three-time winner as a goalie.

Duggan leads all ECACHL blueliners in goals this season with 11. She has been named second team All-Ivy and ECACHL All-Academic. Her weekly honors include honorable mention USCHO.com/ITECH Offensive Player of the Week (Jan. 17 after scoring four goals in a two-game set at Ohio State). Last season she was honorable mention All-ECACHL and honorable mention All-Ivy League, winning Yale's Bingham Award for leadership. She is currently second on Yale's all-time assist list (60), third on Yale's all-time points list (96), and seventh on Yale's all-time goals list (36).

Also honored at the banquet was Helen Resor, who was named to the All-Rookie team.

Yale plays Harvard in the ECACHL semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union's Messa Rink. The winner of that game plays the winner of the Dartmouth-St. Lawrence semifinal for the ECACHL Championship -- and an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament -- Sunday at 2 p.m.
