Team USA Comes to New Haven Nov. 1

The U.S. Women's National Team will face off against the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League All-Stars on Nov. 1 at Ingalls Rink in the third game of the Hilton Family Skate to 2006 Tour. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. EST. The Hilton Family Skate to 2006 Tour features the U.S. Women's National Team on an 11-game schedule in preparation for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.

The U.S. Women's National Team will visit 10 cities during the Hilton Family Skate to 2006 Tour, which opened on Sept. 30 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The Olympic Winter Games will take place in Torino, Italy, from February 10-26, 2006.

"We're eager to give women's hockey this exposure and recognition and we look forward to providing people across the USA with the opportunity to see the game live," said Ben Smith, head coach of the U.S. Women's National Team and a former assistant men's coach at Yale.

The U.S. Women's National Team is comprised of former Olympians, collegiate standouts and several members of the 2005 World Champion U.S. Women's National Team. The roster was announced following the USA Hockey National Women's Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y., in August.
