NEW HAVEN, Conn. - For the second straight week, a Yale Bulldog is the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week. Freshman forward Bray Ketchum (Greenwich, Conn.) earned the honor Monday after picking up two goals and an assist this past weekend against Cornell and Colgate.
Ketchum now has a team-high six points in her first five collegiate games. Her power-play tally 3:40 into the third period Friday vs. Cornell ignited a five-goal outburst for the Bulldogs, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit for a 5-2 win. Ketchum also assisted on the game-tying goal three minutes after her goal. On Saturday she scored the game-tying goal in the second period at Colgate, extending her point-scoring streak to four games. She did not incur a penalty all weekend and had a +4 rating.
Ketchum, who played for the Connecticut Stars, is a four-time USA Hockey player development camp selection. She was the 2006-07 Boston Globe NEPSAC Women's Athlete of the Year and 2006-07 New England Prep School Division II Player of the year for Greenwich Academy, where her team won three straight Division II championships.
Freshman goalkeeper Jackee Snikeris (Downingtown, Pa.) was the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week last week.
