Junior Goalie Honored for 13-save Effort vs. No. 4 Penn

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior Whitney Quackenbush (Manhasset, N.Y.), who made a season-high 13 saves Saturday in Yale's game at No. 4 Penn, has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week. Quackenbush, whose work included stopping four of six free position shots, held the Quakers to just seven goals -- their lowest output since May 2 of 2010.

Quackenbush, an honorable mention All-Ivy League selection each of the past two seasons, has made 13 or more saves in a game four times in her career. That includes a career-high 16 vs. BU last year. Yale hosts the Terriers this Wednesday at Reese Stadium.

Prior to Yale, Quackenbush was an honorable mention All-American, Academic All-American and All-Long Island lacrosse selection at Manhasset High.
