Kessel, one of the best defenders in the Ivy League, leads the Bulldogs' aggressive defense. Last season she played in all 18 games, registering 29 ground balls and finishing second on the team with 11 caused turnovers. She was named Warrior/Inside Lacrosse Division I Third Team All-American, IWLCA/US Lacrosse North All-Region First Team, and second team All-Ivy. As a sophomore, she started all 16 games while leading the team with 31 ground balls. She had a superb freshman season, playing all 16 games and working her way into the starting lineup. Kessel recorded one goal and one assist and was among the team leaders in ground balls and caused turnovers.
