No. 1 Bulldogs Ready For a Break

The No. 1 Yale women’s sailing team’s last weekend of the fall season did not go exactly as planned. Light and variable winds combined with strong currents made for challenging racing at the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship where the team finished eighth overall. This was the first time that the Bulldogs have finished outside of the top three all season long.

Dennis Finishes 3rd at Singlehanded Nationals

The last two races of the ICSA Women’s Singlehanded National Championship were sailed on Sunday in tricky wind conditions. Every so often an offshore breeze would interfere with the westerly sea breeze, keeping the competitors constantly on their toes in anticipation of major wind shifts. Senior Claire Dennis managed the conditions well, earning herself a third-place-overall finish in the regatta. Senior Emily Billing finished 10th overall, less than 10 points out of seventh.
