Five Bulldogs Named to All-Academic Team
On Friday, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association announced the 2014-2015 All-Academic Team. Only juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA were considered. They also had to be starters or key reserves for their team at seven regattas during the school year.

Eight Bulldogs Receive All-American Honors
In an online awards show this evening, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association named the 2014-2015 All-America Team. Eight of the sailors awarded this prestigious honor are members of the Yale coed sailing team, four of the eight also members of the women’s team.

No. 1 Bulldogs Qualify for National Semifinals
This weekend the No. 1 Bulldogs placed third at the New England Women’s Championship, qualifying themselves for this May’s Sperry Top-Sider National Semifinal Championship. The top 18 boats at the semifinal will continue to the final round, the National Championship.

No. 1 Bulldogs to Sail National Qualifier
This weekend the No. 1 Bulldogs will head to Boston to compete for one of eight spots to the 2015 Sperry Top-Sider Women’s National Semifinal Championship. This regatta, called the Reed Trophy, is being hosted by Boston College at the Savin Hill Yacht Club in Z420s and FJs.

This weekend the No. 1 Bulldogs placed first at the President’s Trophy, hosted by Boston University on the Charles River. This is the Bulldogs' second win of the season.

This weekend the No. 1 Bulldogs placed first at the Emily Wick Trophy hosted by the Coast Guard Academy. This is the third year in a row that the Bulldogs have won the event.

On Tuesday the Yale women’s sailing team was named to the top of the college sailing rankings along with the Yale coed and team race teams. Two Bulldogs were also named NEISA women’s sailors of the week.

This weekend the No. 3 Bulldogs, with a team of majority underclassman skippers, took second at the Duplin Trophy. The only women’s team race of the year, the event was co-hosted by Brown and Tufts at Brown University’s Edgewood Yacht Club.

This weekend the Bulldogs persevered shifty, unpredictable winds to finish second at the St. Mary’s Women’s Inter-conference. Each division sailed 14 races with a windward-leeward course in Z420s and FJs.

This weekend the No. 3 Bulldogs will end spring break where they started it: St. Mary’s City, Md. There, they will compete against 17 other teams in the St. Mary’s Women’s Inter-conference. They will be sailing in Z420s and FJs.

The No. 3 Bulldogs will head to Annapolis, Md., this Friday upon the conclusion of their spring training at St. Mary’s College of Maryland to compete in their second regatta of the season, the Women’s Navy Intersectional. They will be competing against 19 other teams in the US Naval Academy’s fleets of FJs and Z420s.

The No. 3 Yale women’s sailing team is going to sunny South Carolina this weekend to compete in their first regatta of the spring season, the Charleston Women’s Interconference. This is the first time the Bulldogs will be hitting the water since the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championships in November.

Underclassmen Secure an Impressive Eighth-Place Finish at Women’s ACCs
This weekend a group of underclassmen, with the help and leadership of senior captain Katherine Gaumond, placed eighth in a deep fleet of 18 teams at the Atlantic Coast Championships. The regatta was held by MIT on the Charles River in their fleets of Fireflies and new Turbo FJs.

No. 1 Bulldogs to Compete in Final Regatta of the Fall Season
This weekend the No. 1 Yale women’s sailing team will be heading to MIT for the most competitive regatta of the fall season, the Atlantic Coast Championships. The Bulldogs will be sailing against 17 teams from all over the east coast, who each had to qualify in their district to be able to sail this event.

After two brutally cold days of racing, the No.1 Yale women’s sailing team finished in second place at the Victorian Coffee Urn, securing themselves a spot at the Atlantic Coast Championships which will be held on Nov. 15 and 16 at MIT.

On Friday night the Yale women’s sailing team will drive to cold Enfield, N.H., where racing is to take place on Saturday and Sunday for the Victorian Coffee Urn. The regatta, hosted by Dartmouth, will act as the New England qualifier for the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship and will be sailed in FJs and Z420s.

The No. 2 Yale women’s sailing team will be competing close to home this weekend at the Stu Nelson Trophy hosted by Connecticut College. The regatta will be sailed in FJs on the Thames River and will serve as the Bulldogs’ last regatta in preparation for the Victorian Coffee Urn, the qualifier for the Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship.

This weekend the No. 2 women’s sailing team won the Yale Women’s Intersectional for the second year in a row, finishing with a 37-point margin over the second-place team. 18 teams competed and sailed 14 races in Yale’s fleets of Z420s and FJs.

The No. 3 women’s sailing team will be driving down to Annapolis, Md., this weekend for the Women’s Navy Fall Regatta, one of the biggest intersectionals of the fall season. The regatta is a three-division event, to be sailed in FJs, Z420s and Laser Radials. A and B division will be sailed in both FJs and Z420s, while C division will sail the entire regatta in the Radial.

Breezy Conditions Challenge Isler and Huebner
This weekend proved to be a challenge for junior Marly Isler and freshman Claire Huebner who sailed the New England Women’s Singlehanded Championship on Long Island Sound in strong wind speeds of 18-22 knots on Saturday and 13-16 knots on Sunday. The Bulldogs finished in 11th and 17th place respectively in an experienced fleet of 18 boats.

Season Opener is a Learning Experience for Young Bulldogs
This weekend the Bulldogs finished tenth at the Tony Deutsch Regatta hosted by MIT. The regatta consisted of 14 races and was sailed in FJ’s and Fireflies, with A-division starting in FJs and B-division in Fireflies. A and B switched fleets after the first eight races on Saturday.

Bulldogs Excited to be Racing Again
After a second-place finish at nationals last spring and three weeks of pre-season training, the Bulldogs are eager to hit the water this weekend for the first regatta of the season – the Toni Deutsch Trophy at MIT. Several key players as well as many promising new sailors will represent Yale at regattas throughout the season in the hopes of maintaining if not improving upon the level of success reached by the women’s sailing team last spring.
