NEW HAVEN, CONN – The Bulldogs will be making a long trek down to Norfolk, Virginia this weekend to compete in the first intersectional regatta of the season, the Old Dominion Women's regatta.
In that Old Dominion University is the host of the 2018 Women's Sailing Nationals, this will be a fairly competitive event with many teams eager to get a chance to compete at the venue before the championship. With a major front pushing up the east coast, this will be an extremely windy event, with winds blowing from the northwest at 23 mph on Saturday and from the north at 18 mph on Sunday. After working hard in the weight room all winter, the Bulldogs are well prepared to be a powerful force in big breeze.
Sailing for the Bulldogs in A division will be senior skipper Casey Klingler with first year crew Claudia Loiacono. In B division sophomore skipper Louisa Nordstrom will be sailing with first year crew Cate Mollerus.
Racing will begin at 9:00am on Saturday and can be followed live at http://scores.collegesailing.org/s18/odu-spring-women/.
