With a second place finish at the Women's New England Championships, or Reed Trophy, the Yale women's sailing team qualified for the ICSA/Gill Women's North American Championships. Last season, the Elis won the regatta to become the top women's team in college sailing.

With 103 points, the Bulldogs finished second to Harvard at the Reed. The top four teams earn automatic berths to the nationals.

In the A division, Molly Carapiet and alternating crews Jenn Hoyle and Julie Papanek sailed to a second place finish overall with 51 points that included three first place finishes.

The Elis also finished second in the B division, as the trio of Emily Hill, Meghan Pearl, and Kendra Emhiser switched off to grab four first place finishes and a total of 52 points.

The North Americans will be hosted by the University of Texas and held at the Austin Yacht Club on Lake Travis from June 1-3.
