Yale in Second Place at Women's Intersectional

Oct. 15, 2005

Branford, CT - The Yale women's sailing team currently has a strong hold on second place at the Yale Women's Intersectional. Yale is participating in and hosting the regatta, which features 22 competing teams. Six races were held in each division, with increasingly clearing skies providing a welcome respite from the recent torrential rains. St. Mary's is currently in first with 56 points, Yale is close behind with 61 points and Navy rounds out the top three with 76 points.

In the A division, skipper Emily Hill '07 and crew Meghan Pearl `06 captured third place with a score of 36 points.

Yale took second in the B division with 25 points. Skipper Kendra Emhiser '07 and crew Hannah Oakland '06 were second in the first and sixth races and first in the second race.

The regatta continues tomorrow, Oct. 16, in Branford.
