No. 4 Bulldogs to Begin Fall Season at Man-Labs Trophy at MIT

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 4 Bulldog women's sailing team will return to action this weekend in the Boston area at the Man-Labs Trophy on Saturday at MIT in Cambridge, Mass. and on Sunday at the Captain's Cup hosted by Tufts in Medford, Mass. The team last competed at the ICSA Women's National Championships in Newport, R.I. where the team placed third.

Three returning members of the women's sailing team were named All-Americans in 2008. Senior captain Kate Hagemann and senior skipper Jane Macky were named All-American Women's Skippers. Junior Marla Menninger was named an All-American Crew.

The team will start out on Saturday at the Man-Labs Trophy hosted by MIT on the Charles River. The Bulldogs placed second at the event in 2007 with 159 points. The Bulldogs will sail in FJs and Techs at the shifty Charles River venue.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs will compete at Tufts in the Captain's Cup. The team impressively won the event last year with 81 points. At Tufts, the Bulldogs will sail on Mystic Lake, a venue that is known for light air and shifty wind conditions. The Bulldogs will compete in the Lark at Tufts.
