Brown Earns Ivy League Player Of The Week Honors For Second Time
Had A Hand In All Three Yale Goals In Win Over Dartmouth
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Becky Brown (Lawrenceville, N.J.), who had a hand in all three Yale goals in Saturday's 3-1 victory at Dartmouth, has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. She shared the honor with Columbia's Ashlin Yahr. It is the second time this season Brown has been recognized.
With her team trailing 1-0, Brown quickly got the Bulldogs back even. She showed a soft touch in the box, deflecting in a cross at 18:55. Less than 10 minutes later, Brown set up the game-winning goal by sending a ball forward to Kristen Forster, who broke in alone. Brown then picked up her second assist of the day on Mary Kubiuk's goal late in the first half.
Brown, the 2009 Ivy League Player of the Year, leads Yale in goals (4) and points (11). Her three assists share the team lead.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they play at Cornell at 4 p.m.
