Mullo Scores For Second Straight Game

BOSTON – The Yale women's soccer team learned on Sunday what a few of the other top programs across the Northeast have already come to realize. Boston University is pretty darn good. The Terriers got second-half goals from Brittany Heist and Madison Clemens to snap a 1-1 tie en route to a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

Enma Mullo scored for Yale (3-3-2) midway through the first half. It came after she took a feed from Kristen Forster and chipped a shot over the top of the BU goalkeeper to tie the score at 1-1.

It stayed that way until Heist headed in Kylie Strom's corner kick for her second goal of the game at 62:42.

The Terriers (7-2-1) added what could almost be called an empty net goal in the final minute. With the Bulldogs in an all-attack mode, Madison Clemens scored on a long shot from near midfield.

BU was coming off an impressive 3-0 victory over Harvard on Wednesday night. The Terriers also have a 2-0 victory over then No. 8 Portland and a 1-1 tie with then fourth-ranked Boston College on their resume. They figure to be nationally ranked when the new poll comes out early next week.

Sunday was the final tune-up before the start of Ivy League play for the Bulldogs. Yale travels to Princeton next Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
