Scored And Tallied Assist In Win Over Dartmouth
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Melissa Gavin, who scored and added an assist in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Dartmouth, has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Gavin got Yale on the board first at 19:08 when she settled feed and blasted a left-footed shot into the top left corner from 20 yards out. She then assisted on the Bulldogs' second goal a little over 10 minutes later.
Gavin has started all 11 games for Yale, leads the team with four goals and shares the lead with 10 points.
Enma Mullo, who also had a goal and an assist in the win over the Big Green, was named to the Honor Roll.
Gavin is the second Yale player to earn Rookie of the Week honors this season. Meredith Speck was recognized on Sept. 5.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they play at Fairfield. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
