Monday Night Soccer: Bulldogs Host Saint Peter’s
Yale Looking To Rebound From Saturday's Loss To Penn
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – There will be a couple of unusual circumstances for the Yale women's soccer team in their next game. The first is the day of the week. The Bulldogs rarely play on Monday. The other is the opponent. Yale and Saint Peter's are meeting for only the second time. Kickoff between the Bulldogs and the Peahens is set for 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
The game comes at a good time for Yale. The Bulldogs (7-5-2) dropped a 2-0 decision at Penn on Saturday and will be looking to regain some confidence and momentum before they return to Ivy League play Saturday at Columbia.
The Quakers cooled off a Yale offense that had scored nine goals in its previous three games. Enma Mullo leads the team in goals (6), assists (4) and points (16). Melissa Gavin has five goals, while Meredith Speck and Kristen Forster both have three goals and two assists.
Saint Peter's (2-13-1) also played on Saturday, dropping a 2-1 decision to Manhattan. The Peahens are led by Emily Fenice, who has three goals. Goalkeeper Caitlin Hoffer has started all 16 games and has a 1.64 goals against average.
The first meeting between the teams was last year, and Mullo and Miyuki Hino both scored in Yale's 2-0 win in Jersey City. Forster assisted on both goals.
