Brown Visits On Senior Day

Mullo, Hino To Be Honored Prior To Kickoff

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's soccer team closes out the 2011 season by hosting Brown on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff on Senior Day at Reese Stadium is slated for 3 p.m. Enma Mullo and Miyuki Hino, Yale's two seniors, will be honored prior to the start of the game.

The Bulldogs (8-5-3, 3-2-1 Ivy) are assured of their ninth winning season in the last 10 years. Yale could still finish as high as second in the Ivy League with a victory and a Penn loss.

Mullo and Hino have played a big role in the success over the last four years. The two have helped the Bulldogs to 34 wins in that stretch and have been outstanding representatives of Yale Soccer.

Mullo has started the last 33 games. This season she leads the team in goals (7) and shares the lead in points (18). Three of her goals have been game winners, including one in overtime that beat Cornell. She was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal against Vermont. As a junior, Mullo earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition after finishing second on the team with five assists. She started the first nine games of her sophomore year before suffering an injury and also saw an injury cut short her rookie season after eight games.

Hino, the team captain, has missed all of this year with an injury but has still provided the Bulldogs with outstanding leadership. As a junior, she was one of only five players to start all 17 games. Her three goals tied for fourth on the team. Hino earned honorable mention All-Ivy recognition as both a sophomore and freshman. In 2009, she was second on the team in goals (4) and third in points (11), and as a rookie in 2008, finished fourth on the team in goals (4) and points (8).

Brown (10-4-2, 3-2-1 Ivy) is unbeaten in its last three games. The Bears, who also could finish as high as second place, are coming off a scoreless tie with Penn last Saturday. Eliza Marshall leads the team in goals (6) and points (15). Brown has outscored its opponents 24-13 on the season.
