Bulldogs Drop OT Heartbreaker At Loyola Chicago

Ramblers Score Winning Goal Early In Second Overtime

CHICAGO – Yale's two-game trip to the Windy City started with a heartbreaking loss to Loyola Chicago. Ana Claudia Michelini scored 3 minutes, 2 seconds into the second overtime period to lift the Ramblers to a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

As has been the case too often this season, Yale fell behind early. Sammy Gage scored her first goal of the season at 30:37 to give Loyola the lead.

The Bulldogs, though, tied it midway through the second half when Kristen Forster headed in a Paula Hagopian cross. Juliann Jeffrey also was credited with an assist on the play.

Loyola (2-4) outshot Yale 11-7, including 5-0 in overtime. Both teams had three corner kicks.

With Adele Jackson-Gibson sidelined by an injury suffered in Tuesday's game with Sacred Heart, Yale head coach Rudy Meredith split the goalkeeping duties. Elise Wilcox played the first 45 minutes before being replaced by Rachel Ames. Both made two saves.

Yale's trip concludes with a game on Sunday at Northwestern. Kickoff is slated for noon CDT.
