Selected Site's Ivy League Player Of Week

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Meredith Speck, who assisted on three of Yale's four goals in Sunday's thrilling 4-3 victory over Towson, has been named the CollegeSportsMadness.com Ivy League Player of the Week.

Speck's biggest assist came early in the second overtime period when she raced down the wing and sent a perfect cross to Paula Hagopian, who drilled it into the back of the net from eight yards out.

Speck also made a nifty cross to set up a Geneva Decker goal, and also was credited with an assist when Melissa Gavin scored the first goal of the game.

Speck, a first team All-Ivy selection as a freshman in 2011, has started all four games for the Bulldogs.

Yale returns to action on Wednesday night, hosting Hartford at 7 p.m. at Reese Stadium.
