Jeffrey Scores In Final Career Game But Bulldogs Fall At Brown

Season Finale Goes To Brown 2-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  – Juliann Jeffrey scored in her final career game, but it wasn't enough to lead the Yale women's soccer team to victory. The Bulldogs dropped a 2-1 decision at Brown in the season finale for both teams.

Jeffrey's goal came with just 1:20 left in the second half. It cut Brown's lead in half, but the Bulldogs were not able to get the equalizer.

Yale fired 22 shots at the Brown goal but only the one found the back of the net.

The Bulldogs end the season with a 7-8-1 overall record.

Today was a non-conference game. The teams played the one that counted in the Ivy League standings on Friday in New Haven, and the Bears managed a 3-1 win.

Yale outshot Brown 13-7 in the first half, but Brown got the only goal when Chloe Cross headed in Annie Gillen's corner kick at 21:24.

It stayed 1-0 until late in the second half. Kiersten Berg got what turned out to be the game-winning goal at 86:25.

Goalkeepers Elise Wilcox and Rachel Ames combined to make five saves.

Melissa Gavin was credited with an assist of Jeffrey's goal. She finished the season as Yale's leading scorer with 11 goals, four assists and 26 points.
