Big Green Score Winning Goal With 3:56 Left In Second Half

A defensive struggle ended in heartbreaking fashion for the Yale women's soccer team. Izzy Glennon's goal with 3:56 left in the second half lifted the Big Green to a 1-0 victory at Burnham Field in Hanover, N.H.

The winning goal came after the Bulldogs had been putting sustained pressure on the Dartmouth goal. Yale had three shots and two corner kicks in the five minutes prior to the goal.

Noelle Higginson had three shots to lead the Bulldogs offense, while Aerial Chavarin added two.

Dartmouth, which played a scoreless tie with defending Ivy champion Princeton last weekend, finished with a 10-8 edge in shots overall.

Goalkeeper Alyssa Fagel made four saves for the Bulldogs.

Mariel Gordon stopped six shots to post the shutout for the Big Green.

Dartmouth (6-3-2, 2-0-1 Ivy) extended its unbeaten streak to five with the win.

It was the sixth straight game between the teams that was decided by one goal or ended in a tie.

The Bulldogs are back in action next Saturday at Cornell. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
